In Metro areas, it has long been assumed that if you do not live inside the perimeter, you are uncool -disconnected from modern society. But ironically, it is this very idea that is making suburbanites cool today.
We may have opted out of down town living in exchange for larger homes and grassy lawns, but it does not mean that we have given up on culture, nightlife and the progressive mind-set of urban civilization.
